On this tour we discover the seaside towns of the Wirral Peninsula. We start our day by visiting West Kirby where you can stroll along the prom or wander around the town. Then on to the seaside resort of New Brighton, which in its heyday had Europe’s biggest open air swimming pool and a tower bigger than Blackpool’s.
This day is a 'must' for all market lovers. We travel to the award-winning market in Bury. Easy to see why, when you walk around this outstanding shopping experience and why not sample the famous 'Bury Black Pudding' whilst you are there, smashing with a blob of piccalilli.
Ormskirk, a traditional market town, combines both ancient and modern. Set in a pedestrianised area surrounded by courtyards, charming arcades and specialist shops. In the afternoon, explore the delights of Southport and walk along the Promenade or visit the shops along the famous Lord Street
We arrive at the Boundary Mill Store in Colne, for a bit of retail therapy for those of you who like to ‘shop til you drop’. You have time for shopping, a wander around and lunch at one of the two restaurants in the store. There will be plenty of bargains to be had, so come with us for a day at Boundary Mill.
Today we have a trip to the beach at Crosby to see the Antony Gormley statues, famously titled ‘Another Place’ and consisting of 100 cast-iron, life size figures spread out along the beach foreshore. We then go onto Liverpool where you will have free time for lunch and for wander around the shops or to visit the excellent museums.
