Stirling & Whisky
We begin travelling north to Callander, a wee highland town and a great place for picking up some Scottish souvenirs. The Trossachs Woollen Mill even has resident highland cows for the public to enjoy. We depart for Stirling, a city steeped in historical attractions and outstanding scenery, with its famous castle and interesting range of shops, cafés and pubs. This afternoon we experience a guided tour at Glengoyne Distillery, where you can learn about the difference the wood makes to the spirit and then taste some whiskeys from the Glengoyne Collection.
Falkirk Wheel
Our day begins with the Falkirk Wheel - the world's only rotating boat lift, connecting the Forth & Clyde Candan with the Union Canal. We enjoy the full experience on a boat trip that sees the boat lifted up 35m to sail smoothly onto the Union Canal and back to your starting point. This afternoon we journey to Callendar House, a French chateau-styled property with a working Georgian kitchen, where we enjoy cream tea.
Balloch & Cruise
We head towards Balloch, an enchanting village at the foot of Loch Lomond. Offering fantastic shopping and dining experiences, Balloch also offers a variety of attractions, such as Sea Life Aquarium, Bird of Prey Centre and the Maid of the Loch, a 1953 paddle steamer with art deco inspired interiors. This afternoon we enjoy a scenic cruise on beautiful Loch Lomond, enjoying views of stately homes and castles along the shoreline, as well as Inchmurrin Island - the largest of Loch Lomond's 33 islands.
