Exeter & Cathedral

- We make our way to the city of Exeter, where we visit the cathedral for a guided tour. Discover the history of this magnificent example of Gothic architecture and hear the stories of the people who have lived and worshipped here for nearly a thousand years. Following our visit, you have the afternoon free to explore Exeter. Perhaps visit the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, explore the city's Underground Passages, or wander down to the Quayside with its fascinating history.

Plymouth

Plymouth & Cream Tea Cruise - After breakfast, we journey along the coast to the maritime city of Plymouth, where we head to The Box - Plymouth's award-winning museum and gallery. Discover more about the history of Plymouth as you explore the collections and galleries, including the beautifully restored St Luke's Church with its rotating exhibitions. Watch out for the life-size woolly mammoth! Later, we board a one-hour Scenic Harbour Cruise with Plymouth Boats. Set sail across the Plymouth Sound, passing Plymouth Hoe, Mount Edgcumbe and Royal William Yard, heading for the river Tamar. Watch out for mighty warships and nuclear submarines in one of Europe's largest Naval Dockyards, only visible from the water. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Devon and Cornwall coastline with a cream tea and an informative commentary from the captain along the way.

Buckfast Abbey

Buckfast Abbey, Tavistock & Princetown - We journey to Buckfast Abbey, home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks. They live their lives of prayer, work and study according to the ancient rule of St Benedict. We take in the peaceful atmosphere and explore the beautiful abbey church and tranquil gardens. Later, we enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. Keep an eye out for the wild Dartmoor ponies as we make a lunchtime stop in Tavistock, the historic market town and birthplace of Sir Francis Drake. This afternoon, we return across Dartmoor, making a stop in Princetown. This tiny moorland outpost is home to the infamous Dartmoor Prison and the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre. The centre was once the Old Duchy Hotel, where Arthur Conan Doyle penned The Hound of the Baskervilles, his famous Sherlock Holmes novel.

Brixham

Brixham - We enjoy a day out to Brixham, a beautiful South Devon harbour fishing town with historic sites and scenic coastal views. Yachts galore can be seen at the popular marina and in the outer harbour. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront promenade and along the half-mile-long breakwater with its lighthouse, and then relax on popular Breakwater Beach, and enjoy an ice cream from one of the lovely local cafés.
