Barnsdale Gardens

Barnsdale Gardens & Cruise - Enjoy a visit to Barnsdale Gardens and explore the stunning horticultural site created by Geoff Hamilton for BBC Gardeners' World. Voted the UK's Best Garden to Visit 2018/19, Barnsdale has been dubbed 'a theme park for gardeners' because of its uniquely designed collection of 38 individual, yet realistic, small gardens that guide you round this 8-acre site. This afternoon we partake in a relaxing cruise from Whitwell North Shore with Rutland Water Cruises.

Burghley House

Stamford & Burghley House - We begin the day with a stop in Stamford. Acknowledged as one of the most beautiful towns in England, Stamford is a prosperous market town with a wide range of shops and attractions. This afternoon we include entry to nearby Burghley House, mostly designed by William Cecil between 1555 to 1587. This grand house offers 35 major rooms to explore, and outside you can enjoy beautiful walks in the historic parkland laid out by Capability Brown.

Melton Mowbray

Melton Mowbray & Peterborough - Departing the hotel we head to Melton Mowbray, the 'Rural Capital of Food!' English royalty's association with Melton goes back to the 1100s and the town was at the centre of the Leicestershire Hunt, giving the county its mascot and symbol, the Leicestershire fox. Don't miss this opportunity to try produce from 'The Melton Cheeseboard' and 'The Old Pork Pie Shop'. We return to Peterborough to enjoy a free afternoon. This bustling cathedral city in Cambridgeshire is home to an impressive array of shops, parks, and historical and cultural attractions.
