Our Hotel:  The Rutland Hotel, Douglas

Our hotel is ideally situated on Douglas Promenade and offers a restaurant and cosy bar. WiFi is available.

All bedrooms are en-suite with shower, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms with baths are executive sea view and incur a supplement. The hotel has a lift. Please note: There are steps to the entrance.

Steam Railway

IOM Steam Railway - Experience a journey back in time aboard the Isle of Man Steam Railway, running through the island's charming countryside from Douglas to Port Erin. It is the longest narrow gauge steam line in Britain that still uses its original locomotives and carriages!

Castletown - The ancient capital of Mann at Castletown is a delightful place from which to admire the magnificent views over the Calf of Man. The town is made up of small winding streets, picturesque fishing cottages along the harbour and a Viking castle that towers over the centre of the town.

Manx ElectricRailway

Manx Electric Railway - This scenic ride aboard the historic Manx Electric Railway takes us from Douglas to Laxey. You will have some free time in Laxey to see the famous Laxey Wheel, also known as 'Lady Isabella' - the largest working waterwheel in the world!

Snaefell Mountain Railway - We board the Mountain Railway for a spectacular journey up to the summit of Snaefell, the island's only mountain, where breath-taking views await. Peaked at 2,036 feet above sea level, you may be able to see some, or all, of the Seven Kingdoms - England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Isle of Man and the kingdoms of heaven and the sea.
