B, DRoses
On day 3 we continue to Roses, an authentic Spanish fishing port with sandy beaches on the Costa Brava, near the Spanish-French border of Catalonia. You can take a dip in azure seas or laze on sandy shores in Roses. It's one of the best places to enjoy life like a true Spaniard - slow and relaxed.
B, DCap de Creus Park
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Roses, before we join the Roses Little Town Train for a two-hour journey along the coast to Cap de Creus Nature Park. Enjoy magnificent panoramic views and Mediterranean landscapes, charming coves with crystal-clear water and sea caves in natural sites of national interest, and the fully protected nature reserve of the Cap de Creus nature park. We will discover marvellous places to take some of the best photos of the Costa Brava so don't forget to bring your camera.
B, DBesalú Rail & Cruise
We are joined by a local guide on day 5 for a full-day excursion to the middle-age town of Besalú. Our day begins with a ride on the little town train, a great way to see this historic town. Enjoy some free time to relax and have a bite to eat, before we continue to Banyoles for a one-hour boat trip on the Lake to round off the day. Day 6 is a free day.
B, DCity of Barcelona
On day 7 we include a morning guided tour of Barcelona, including a boat trip around the harbour and along the coastline. Then it's free time for lunch in the city, and an afternoon at leisure before we return to the hotel. The Catalan capital offers a wide range of leisure options and a rich cultural scene, famous for Gaudí and other Art Nouveau architecture.
B, DCadaqués
After breakfast on day 8, we make the short walk to Santa Margarita for a one-hour boat trip to Cadaqués, with a guided walking tour on arrival. Situated right on the Cap de Creus peninsula, Cadaqués is one of the most symbolic places on the Gironese Costa Brava, made famous by Salvador Dalí. The artistic genius spent long periods here during his childhood as well as establishing his home there. His house-museum, beside Port Lligat bay, to the north of the town, enables you to get to know part of the extensive work of this master of Surrealism. This afternoon we return to Roses with time free to relax before dinner.
B, DNúria Valley
On day 9 we journey into the mountains to Ribes de Freser for a trip on the rack railway through to the Sanctuary of Núria. It is the only way to access Núria Valley and has exceptional features: a rack railway covering a distance of 12.5 km over an incline of more than 1,000 metres. There will be time for refreshments before the return journey by train and coach.
