On this break we head to the unspoilt East Anglia and idyllic ‘Sunshine Coast’ of Essex. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the most picturesque villages in Suffolk and learn about the life of famous landscape painter, John Constable, known for his painting ‘Hay Wain’ and other Suffolk-inspired works.

Constable Country

Constable Country & The Sunshine Coast- Our day begins with a look at the life of famous Painter, John Constable. We will call at Dedham where he attended grammar school and also see the 16th Century Flatford cottage, housing an exhibition on the life and work of this 17th century painter. This afternoon we tour the beautiful 'Essex Sunshine Coast,' calling at Clacton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze.

Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds & Lavenham- This morning we visit the historic town of Bury St Edmunds on Market Day! Enjoy some free time to browse the market, town and of course the Angel Hotel where Dickens had Mrs Pickwick stay! Our afternoon takes us through the pretty villages of Cavendish and Clare, with their pastel coloured houses, and onto the medieval village of Lavenham. Renowned for being one of the UK's best preserved villages, Lavenham boasts medieval half-timbered cottages and a 15th Century church.
