Are we nearly there yet?...What time are we getting home?...What’s the weather going to be like?

 

All three are difficult to answer with any degree of accuracy. Our travel times are governed by the traffic flow on the roads, and we can check the weather forecasts but nothing is guaranteed.

(Even Michael Fish famously got the Great Storm of October 1987 very wrong!)

1. How do I set up an internet account with G-Line Holidays Ltd?

2. How much Deposit do I have to pay?

There is no deposit system on Day Excursions-as they are paid for in full at time of booking. Deposits are £40 per person for all UK and Continental Holidays. The only exceptions to this are any holidays that include flights, plus our Fred Olsen Cruises (these have varying deposit prices and can be viewed on the departure details, in the brochure, or you can call the office for details). Balances are payable at least 6 weeks prior to departure. (NB: Cruises have an earlier balance payment).* Plus insurance if needed (See Insurance section in drop down section under the About Us tab)

3. When will I get confirmation of my booking?

If it's a Day Excursion that you have booked then you will be sent a confirmation that will act as your travel ticket. When you book a Holiday and pay in full we send you a confirmation and receipt. Then nearer to departure date (usually one week prior) you will receive your travel pack(s) consisting of an itinerary, luggage label(s), a customer service questionnaire, and any additional necessary information about your holiday. If you have paid a deposit we send you a receipt for that, a booking confirmation, and an invoice for the balance with advice of the Balance Final due Date (see also information below in section 5).

4. Will you send me a reminder when my balance is due?

No-it is due at least 6 weeks before the holiday departure. We do not automatically take your balance payment-it is your responsibility. Your Balance Final Due Date is printed on your Confirmation and Invoice and you need to log in to your secure on-line account or ring us to pay the balance. If you pay by a debit/credit card and wish to pay in person/over the phone you will have to give us your details again as we do NOT keep card details on file. When final balance has been paid you will receive a receipt, then your travel pack(s) near to departure date (see also above section 4)

5. Can I book specific seats on the coach?

Yes-and we don't charge any premium for them either! However, reserving seats (which are yours for the duration of your trip) is purely on a first come-first served basis. So the earlier you book the more chance you have of sitting exactly where you wish on the coach (see coach seat plan)
It is possible that for operational reasons, a coach of different seat configuration may be used and we must therefore reserve the right to alter a seating plan and re-allocate seats other than those you have booked, although this will be avoided as far possible. We shall have no liability in relation to any such change of specification. Specific seats will not be allocated on feeder coaches.

6. What is my luggage allowance?

A maximum weight of 20kg per case is allowed. We recommend 1 "medium" size hand luggage suitcase/carryall per person. Please pack a separate overnight bag if your Tour includes an overnight ferry crossing (as you may not be able to access your suitcase from the coach in the parking hold).

7. Can I take a wheelchair/walking frame or scooter?

Yes-providing it is a lightweight (max weight 15kg) non-mechanical chair or walking frame. Spaces are strictly limited so please ask the reservation staff about availability at the time of booking. Mechanical chairs/scooters must be flat pack variety and you also have to be able to load them yourself (or with volunteered aid of your fellow traveller/s). Our drivers are not insured to handle/carry them for you. We are strictly limited to one Mechanical chair/scooter per coach trip.

8. Passport Advice

PASSPORT NOTES AND ADVICE Although the United Kingdom is part of the European Union (EU), you still need to carry a full British 10-year passport (or five-year child passport if you are under 16 and not on a parent's passport) every time you travel to Europe. -----

Do I need a passport to travel to the Republic of Ireland? The Republic of Ireland is classed as being part of the Common Travel Area of the UK so you do not need a passport to enter. Most airlines or ferry services only require satisfactory photographic ID (i.e., your passport, driving licence, etc). We recommended that you take your passport if you have one and that you take care to read any advice the airline or ferry service give you about travelling when you book your tickets.

Useful Advice Before you leave, make sure that: * you have filled in details of your next of kin on the last page of your passport * you have noted down your passport number and its date of issue and have put these details in a safe place, separate from your passport * you have made a photocopy of your passport details page (usually inside the back cover) and left it with a friend * you take one other form of photo ID with you *

9. Do you sell Gift Vouchers?

Yes, Holiday Gift Vouchers are available any denomination from £10.00 upwards-you decide. These can be redeemed against any of our excursions or holidays. Please ring or call into our office to purchase. (These are NOT available online)

10. Can I use my Credit Card?

We accept Credit Cards. However, we do charge a 2% surcharge on Visa & Mastercards.
We DO NOT accept Americal Express or Diners Club. There is no charge for making a payment with a Dedit Card or personal cheque.
