Lichfield
Lichfield - We drive south to the city of Lichfield where there is much to see and do, particularly the stunning Cathedral, set in a remarkable and serene close. More than 800 years old, the building is the only medieval English cathedral with three spires.

Shugborough Estate - Experience National Trust's Shugborough Estate, the former home of the late Lord Patrick Lichfield. Set on the banks of the River Sow, this magnificent 17th century mansion is a rich blend of landscape, monuments, gardens and architecture, shaped by exploration and global encounters.

Ecclesbourne Valley Railway - We make our way north to the Derwent Valley and Duffield. Here we join the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway for a ride through picturesque countryside to Wirksworth. We then make our way to the delightful Peak District town of Matlock for some time to explore and have a bite to eat.

Midland Railway - Enjoy a ride on board the Midland Railway in Butterley, bringing back memories of the old LMS - the London Midland & Scottish Railway.

Biddulph Grange Garden - The National Trust owned Biddulph Grange is one of Britain's most unusual gardens, offering formal Italian Garden, Egyptian Court, tranquil Chinese Garden, upside down trees, a stunning Dahlia Walk and the oldest surviving golden larch in Britain, brought from China in the 1850s. A delightful experience that is well worth a visit.

Churnet Valley Railway - We join the railway at Froghall and enjoy a round trip on the Churnet Valley Railway line, through Staffordshire's hidden valley.
