Autumn Tints in The Lakes

Take in a myriad of Autumn colours as we journey past mountains, valleys, villages, towns, coastlines and of course, lakes, on this relaxing retreat to the nearby Lake District.

Our Hotel: Damson Dene Hotel, Windermere

Hidden away close to Bowness is our hotel, named after the famous damson orchards of the area. Features include the Heron View restaurant, a relaxing bar and leisure club with indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym. All bedrooms are en-suite and offer TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. This hotel does not have a lift, but ground floor rooms may be available.

Bowness

Bowness, Cruise & Grange - We visit nearby Bowness, delightfully set on the shores of Lake Windermere. Following some free time to explore, we then board a 'steamer' to the southern tip of Lakeside and continue to the genteel Grange-over-Sands for some time at leisure.

Eden Valley

Eden Valley - This excursion begins with a short drive to Sedbergh, stopping for a short break before we continue to Appleby-in-Westmorland. You will have time to obtain lunch and explore this historic town before we ride along the shore of Ullswater - said to be the most beautiful English lake - and make a final break in Glenridding before climbing over rugged Kirkstone Pass and back to the hotel.

Kendal

Kendal - Enjoy some free time to explore the Cumbrian market town of Kendal, home of the famous 'mint cake.' Kendal is home to a fine selection of shopping arcades, museums and a host of historical buildings and splendid views.

Sizergh Castle

Sizergh Castle - We also include a visit to Sizergh Castle, a beautuiful medieval house with rich gardens and estate. Sizergh has many tales to tell, with centuries-old portraits and fine furniture, and its beautiful garden includes a pond, lake and a rock garden.
