On this break we head to unspoilt East Anglia and the idyllic ‘Sunshine Coast’ of Essex. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the most picturesque villages in Suffolk and learn about the life of famous landscape painter, John Constable, known for his painting ‘Hay Wain’ and other Suffolk-inspired works.

 

OUR HOTEL: Best Western Marks Tey Hotel, Colchester

Our hotel is located just a few miles from Colchester and offers excellent standards of accommodation. Hotel features include WiFi, a Brasserie Restaurant, Lounge & Bar and leisure facilities including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. All bedrooms are en-suite and offer a TV, telephone, radio, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. This hotel does not have a lift, but ground floor rooms may be available.

 

Lavenham

Lavenham - We travel through the pretty villages of Cavendish and Clare, with their pastel coloured houses, and onto the medieval village of Lavenham. Renowned for being one of the UK's best-preserved villages, Lavenham boasts medieval half-timbered cottages and a beautiful 15th century church.

Constable Country

Constable Country - Learn about the life of famous Painter, John Constable, as we call at the village of Dedham, where he attended grammar school, as well as Flatford in the heart of the Dedham Vale. This charming hamlet was the inspiration for some of Constable's most famous pictures, for example, the Hay Wain. Wandering beside the River Stour or looking at Flatford Mill and Willy Lott's House you can feel as if you are actually walking through one of his paintings.

Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast - Sit back and relax in your coach seat as we tour the beautiful 'Essex Sunshine Coast,' calling at Clacton-on-Sea and also Walton-on-the-Naze, a seaside resort with sandy beaches, seafront gardens, quaint narrow streets and fossil hunting.

Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds - We include a visit the historic town of Bury St Edmunds, famous for its Abbey Gardens, connections with Dickens and The Nutshell, reputedly the smallest pub in the country.
